Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5, the best consumer 2-in-1?

Lenovo introduced a major product refresh at MWC 2023 and had previously done so a month earlier at CES in January. But he had models to update and the IdeaPad Duet 5 that is coming to us now we like a lot and it will be the best that can be found in a 2 in 1 for consumption.

You already know that within the Windows platform we can enjoy two groups of “hybrid” mobility computers. On the one hand, the convertibles (closer to laptops) and on the other hand, the 2-in-1s that are based on tablets, but offer much more capacity and flexibility of use. Both offer advantages over standard laptops.

IdeaPad Duet 5 will be updated in a big way

Lenovo has several “2-in-1” models in this ‘Duet’ series that add quality and performance at a reasonable price, since they are intended for mass consumption. The model in question has already been listed on the official web portal, although it has not yet been announced. And it will arrive very well updated.

The new IdeaPad Duet 5 features a multi-touch LTPS LCD display of 12.4 inches and 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. It has a brightness of up to 500 nits, a DCI-P3 color gamut of 95%, and support for Dolby Vision. Includes a Lenovo Digital Pen 3 active stylus with support for 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Another accessory that makes it a 2-in-1 is a Folio case with a built-in keyboard that can be connected via the tablet’s pogo pins or via Bluetooth.

Its internal hardware has been upgraded to the latest Intel processors, the Core Gen13 “Raptor Lake” for laptops, with models to choose from a Core i3-1315U to a Core i7-1355U. It can equip 8 or 16 Gbytes of RAM memory (non-replaceable) and a 512 Gbyte PCIe 4.0 solid-state drive, which is replaceable by the user.

The tablet maintains its premium chassis manufactured in a aluminum magnesium alloy and will be offered in two color options “stone blue” or “storm grey”. Its weight is 839 kg, which amounts to 1.19 kg with the keyboard. It features two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports with support for power delivery and video out, plus a 3.5mm audio jack.

There is support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, and double camera, front 5 MP with IR for facial recognition and security tasks and a rear also 5 MP. It has two 2W stereo speakers, a 50Wh battery and a 65W adapter connectable to USB Type-C. The IdeaPad Duet 5 preinstalls Windows 11 and we don’t know its price and availability. It look very nice.
