Luis Olaya is the new Production Direct Sales in Spain and Portugal of Canon

Canon reinforces its staff with an important appointment. Luis Olaya is the new director of Production Direct Sales of the company in Spain and Portugal. With more than thirty years of experience in business management in very diverse sectors such as telecommunications, outsourcing or the printing industry, Luis will bring a strategic vision to the area of production printing of the multinational in the Iberian market.

The manager will combine his new role with his current positions in director of the CBS area (Canon Business Services), where he is responsible for leading the suite of professional services that Canon offers to its clients, such as the role of Strategic Account Manager. In his new functions, Luis will continue to report to the CEO of Canon in Spain and Portugal, Javier Tabernero.

This new incorporation represents a strategic reinforcement for the company’s production printing area, given the good evolution that the business has experienced in recent years. Under this new leadership, the multinational hopes to continue on this path of growth, with the premise of satisfying the needs of quality and speed demanded by the market and with a clear focus on the customer.

Bet on internal talent

Luis Olaya replaces Alicia Cifré, who has recently been promoted to Vice President of Production Print Direct Sales for Europe or by its acronym in English European Vice President Production Print Direct Sales.

The new Director of Production Direct Sales joined Canon in 2014 and has since held a variety of roles of responsibility, including management of the printing outsourcing services area for EMEA or the implementation of the strategy for the multinational’s information services and solutions for Spain and Portugal. Previously, he was working in companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Vodafone or Nortel, among other organizations.

Luis is a civil engineer from the Colombian School of Engineering. In addition, he has a master’s degree in PDG (General Management Program) at the IESE Business School in Madrid. Likewise, he has completed different training programs on corporate strategy and leadership at the Wharton School of Business, at the University of Pennsylvania.
