A few weeks ago we saw that Microsoft had decided to raise the price of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in Japan, a movement that was important because, as we told you at the time, it left the door open to a possible price increase in other countries. something that, in the end, has been confirmed, since the Redmond giant the price of both consoles in Sweden has risena country that is a member of the European Union.

The increase has not been very large, but it is noticeable and will affect all those who want to buy one of those consoles starting today.
Ultimately this should not surprise us. Microsoft already announced at the time that at some point they were going to have to adjust the prices of certain things, words that came from the mouth of Phil Spencer himself, head of the Xbox division. However, the executive did not directly target any particular market, so the scope of that (upward) price adjustment remains undefined. We will see how it evolves in the coming months, but it is likely that in the end prices will end up rising in a large part of Europe.
As far as games are concerned, there was also a price hike as our regular readers will remember. The exclusive first party titles for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will be, from the beginning of this year, 10 euros more expensive. This will affect highly anticipated games like Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Starfield, which will be priced at €69.99.
At the moment we have no news that the price of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S is going to rise in Spain, but I think that this first price increase in our neighbor to the north it’s a pretty clear sign that it could happen sooner or later. If you were planning to buy any of those consoles, it would be a good idea not to wait too long, since in the end you may end up with a price increase. Right now, Xbox Series S is still on sale below its recommended price, and Xbox Series X can be purchased with the Forza Horizon 5 pack for 559 euros.
