Microsoft Teams will improve call control

With the rise of remote work, motivated in large part by the COVID-19 pandemic, Microsoft Teams has become one of the most important collaboration platforms in the industry. Its popularity has only grown, and the Redmond giant is aware that, to stay on top, it must introduce news of interest that constantly improve the user experience.

That implies touching all fronts, that is, the company should not limit itself to improving the most used, and most far-reaching, general features of Microsoft Teams, but should also think about those more niche ones that are used by specific groups of professionals. , since this increases the value of this platform both at a general level and at a specific level.

As we can read in Neowin, one of the next innovations that Redmond will introduce in Microsoft Teams will be the possibility of control calls using Bluetooth headsets, and also with speakers based on said technology that obviously have the necessary controls. In the Microsoft 365 roadmap we can read the following:

«Use device buttons to control calls (answer, end, hold) from Bluetooth audio devices no need for a USB dongle when connected to a Windows PC running the Teams desktop client. For many headsets and speakerphones, this will work without requiring the user to do anything other than pair the headset or speakerphone with the PC. Check out our certification page for additional information coming soon on devices tested to see if yours meets all certification criteria with native Bluetooth connections (without a USB dongle).”

It is a very successful move that will make life for many professionals, since they will be able to stop depending on keyboard shortcuts to control their calls in Microsoft Teams. This new feature is expected to be available sometime in March.
