Sony has just unveiled a new trailer for Morbius with Jared Leto, a film that has been repeatedly postponed due to a health crisis, but which finally hits theaters on March 30! Be careful, we are far from the superheroes who save the world by sticking.
Morbius, a film that intrigues as much as it worries
Sony wants to develop its own cinematic universe, inspired by characters from Marvel’s Spider-Man mythology. A vast saga which for the moment has trouble establishing itself, especially after the second opus of Venom particularly disappointing, if not to say completely off the mark. If Spider-Man seems to be the only one to do quite well, especially with cinema records of No Way Home, Morbius could be synonymous with renewal for the license.
However, Jared Leto’s latest foray into the world of superheroes does not really reassure fans of the genre. In front of David Ayer’s camera, the actor had camped a somewhat caricatural Joker, in a film considered one of the worst of its kind for a long time. We can therefore only hope that this time he will pay tribute to the character he portrays, under the direction of Daniel Espinosa. The director of Life – Origin Unknown should give us a real monster film, on the border between fantasy and action film.
As a reminder, Morbius will follow the adventures of Doctor Michael Morbius suffering from a rare blood disease who, in a last hope of saving the victims of this pathology, will develop a serum which could potentially cure it. But on the other hand, this remedy could also be more dangerous than the disease itself…
