My Hero Academia: announced the unpublished volume World Heroes

In a few weeks, the first million spectators who will go to cinemas to see My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission, the third animated feature film based on the manga by Kōhei Horikoshi, will receive an unpublished volume of the work of Aichi’s mangaka for free.

Titled My Hero Academia Vol. World Heroes, the special publication will feature an original story signed by Horikoshi himself and an interview with the author and editors, as well as character design and costume galleries.

At the moment it is not clear if the volume will be given away in all the countries where the film will be broadcast in theaters, so we will try to provide further updates as soon as we become aware of new details regarding this initiative.

When does the new My Hero Academia movie come out?

My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission will debut in theaters on August 6, 2021 and will tell an original story.

Deku is wanted by the authorities on charges of mass murder while a mysterious accident threatens to shock the whole world. The teaser, in fact, reveals that the end of everything is near: in fact there are only two hours to the destruction of the world.

The film will see Kōhei Horikoshi in the role of chief supervisor and designer of the original characters. Kenji Nagasaki, former director of the anime series and the two previous films, returns to direct this new film, as well as the screenwriter Yousuke Kuroda, the character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi and the composer Yuki Hayashi.

This third feature will be added to My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, which debuted in 2018 and My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, a sequel that has not yet landed in Italian cinemas because it has been postponed several times due to the pandemic. The distribution of both the first and second films is handled by Dynit.

What is My Hero Academia about?

Due to a genetic mutation of the little toe, mankind can develop superpowers.

These special abilities, called “quirks” first manifest themselves at the age of four, with the majority of the population ‘getting’ these superpowers and allowing the development of a new category of people: heroes, who they fight against villains who sow terror in the world.

Izuku Midoriya, a middle school student who dispassionately admires the heroes and especially All Might, their most famous representative, dreams of becoming a superhero too despite being born without Quirk. This condition leads him to be mocked by his peers and schoolmates, primarily the haughty Bakugo, who call him Deku. Izuku, however, is a type who does not give up and, one day, he attracts the attention of All Might himself, who will decide to give him his Quirk because he considers the brave boy worthy of becoming a true hero!

My Hero Academia manga (Boku no hīrō akademia) is published in Italy by Edizioni Star Comics.
