NETGEAR Announces the Nighthawk A8000, the First USB Adapter for Wi-Fi 6E

The Nighthawk A8000 is a new adapter from NETGEAR to provide Wi-Fi connectivity to any personal computer through a USB port.

Wi-Fi 6E is currently the most advanced version of the wireless connectivity standard. Although Wi-Fi 7 is already under development and NETGEAR itself announced its first router for the next version last month, it still has years to go before its massive implementation and 6E offers plenty of features for any user.

The problem is that the rapidity in the development of new technologies puts out of play a lot of equipment that is still in use. These types of adapters are a good way to bring them up to date. They are -relatively- affordable in price and their installation is as simple as connecting them to USB ports that are widely available on any PC.

Nighthawk A8000

The Nighthawk A8000 is the first of its kind to support Wi-Fi 6E (it also supports previous versions of the standard) and thus allows access to three connection bands, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz or 6 GHz. It offers speeds of up to 1.2Gbps and can connect to USB 3.0 (recommended) or USB 2.0 ports.

Its design is that of a compact base that is very easy to mount directly or open to find the best connection. It includes its own antennas and can be installed on both laptops and desktops. Supports the protocol WPA3the most advanced encryption standard for generating secure keys on Wi-Fi.

The Nighthawk A8000 is compatible with any router. It can also be integrated with the manufacturer’s Nighthawk and Orbi series mesh networking devices for the best performance. It is recommended to install it on computers running Windows 11.

Your price of 99 dollars it is quite high and in desktop computers it will be more profitable to install a PCIe network card for Wi-Fi 6E that you can buy for less than 30 dollars. If you don’t have any slot available or you are going to use it with a laptop, this NETGEAR adapter is an ideal option due to its capacity and ease of installation.
