And it is that Netflix has decided to shelve 1899, the great super bet of the creators of Dark, leaving us with an open ending and the desire (really wanting) to know how this new round of television coconut ends. What happened?

It was Odar and Friese themselves who broke the news on their social networks. The directors have published a text in which they indicate that although they had projected a second and third season, as with Dark, it will not be possible to carry them out because 1899 “will not be renewed.” We leave you the post and its translation below:

From his words, it is clear that the directors themselves have been disappointed in the decision, especially if they have millions of fans, as they indicate. Although they have not given further explanations about what has led Netflix to this cancellation, it is possible that we are facing a new case Sense8: a series with a large audience, but whose cost was so high that not even its legion of fans could prevent the content platform from canceling it. On that occasion, the push and protests of the followers on social networks was such that the company finally gave in with the making of a kind of final special episode (it lasted 2 hours) that closed everything down.
