Newskill Belenor, a functional and economic battle table

Newskill has just announced the launch of a new series of computing tables: Newskill Belenor and Belenor PRO. The first is an ‘all-terrain’ model that is equally suitable for playing or studying and that stands out for a price that is also suitable for all audiences, below the barrier of 150 euroswhile the second goes up a notch by offering height adjustment with an electric motor.

The Spanish manufacturer specialized in peripherals and accessories accumulates products in the catalog week after week. In his section of gaming tables, already had the Anhur, Fenrir and top-of-the-range Tanaris series available. Now it adds one more series to this product group which -like the chairs- has gained interest among consumers who aspire to achieve a dedicated, attractive, comfortable and functional workspace.

We have had the opportunity to test the base model before the launch and here we will tell you our impressions. As a preview, we can already tell you that those who seek to square the circle will like it: good, pretty and cheap.

Newskill Belenor, features

The objective of this table is to offer a value proposal with the best specifications that can be found in its price range. In this way, we see it intended for those users who are approaching the purchase of this type of peripheral for the first time.

Work desks have always existed, but they have generally been reserved for more professional studios or offices. With the COVID pandemic and the massive return to homes to control the pandemic, we have seen its great utility compared to placing the laptop on tables in non-specialized living rooms or kitchens or using that complementary furniture installed in typical student bedrooms that, let’s be frank , they leave a lot to be desired in terms of size and comfort of use.

Nothing better than a dedicated table, specially designed to serve as a base for a computer workstation, play or study with due comfort. We will see it in detail later, but this Belenor meets the essentials at a very good level, thanks to a large size without being shrill, a reinforced metal structure, a carbon surface and additional details for cable management and housing of other accessories.

We leave you with its main specifications so you can see at a glance what it offers:

Riding the Newskill Belenor

The carrier will arrive at your address somewhat tired. It is a good size and weight table, but its elements are perfectly placed to reduce the bulk of the packaging and at the same time keep them protected during transport. Can be easily assembled by one personbut if someone lends a hand more than better.

We look for a free place with space to be able to work comfortably and we take out all the components. The manufacturer includes a paper assembly guide with the steps to follow, in addition to the necessary screws and a small Allen key that is the only tool that we will need.

We place the board on the floor to screw on its lower part the two Z-shaped legs and two small crossbars that in the form of a square will act as reinforcements. We place the four round accessories finished in polycarbonate that will be the ones in contact with the ground to avoid damage to it and add stability.

We only have to mount the additional elements, the cable management base, the headphone holder and another for drinks. Like the top and the frame, they have the corresponding holes and threads that prevent any mistakes since it is only a matter of tightening the screws with the built-in wrench. Actually, it is more complicated to describe it than to do an assembly process in which it took us just over 10 minutes. We place the table in its final location and enjoy it.

Design

The table is very well conceived with the comfort of the user in mind. Attractive to the eye, it will not clash anywhere you place it. It looks and feels robust with those Z-shaped legs made of 2 mm reinforced metal that, together with the reinforcement brackets, achieve a structure capable of supporting a weight up to 200kg. The buyer will have a table for many years.

Another main element is the work board. Its dimensions of 120×600 They are ideal for a typical user. Enough space to place the peripherals, but not as big as other models of 140, 160 mm (or more) that in already occupied homes it can be difficult to find a suitable location. The height of the table is 75cma standardized value for computer uses and less important than that of the work chair from where the ergonomic section is usually better managed.

The top is made of textured melamine, with a carbon pattern that reinforces the quality of the finish and the gaming aesthetic, although as we said above it can be used by workers or students alike. To say, as one of the few things that we liked less about this table, is that the table top of the tested model is a magnet for fingerprints and they will accumulate with little use. Nothing that a regular cleaning can’t fix and that will surely be less noticeable in the model with a white finish.

Any self-respecting base must have a design that facilitates cable management. The Newskill Belenor features a metal bracket that attaches to the bottom of the dash and accommodates a power strip and cables. The table top also has two pre-drilled holes in its surface to run cables down to the stand (or PC) to keep your desktop as tidy and clean as possible.

As additional extras, the table includes two metallic accessories, which are fixed to the dashboard to perform the functions of support for headphones and for soft drinks or coffee cups. They always come in handy, although if you don’t need them you can remove them so they don’t stand out from the board.

User experience, conclusions and price

Good product considering its price range below the barrier of 150 euros. It assembles effortlessly in just over 10 minutes and is visually appealing enough to be placed in almost any location. We liked the design of the structure with those Z-shaped legs. They are robust at the base and are well reinforced with brackets, topped with plastic-coated studs so as not to damage floors such as wooden flooring and to prevent unwanted movements.

The board is a good size without being huge. If you use it for a desktop PC you will have plenty of room to place the monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers. Of course, for the tower there is no room considering the large dimensions of the monitor. In any case, when we do not use mini-PCs or AIOs, it is always preferable that the tower is on the ground. If instead of a desktop you use the table to work/play with your laptop, you will have more than enough space for everything, expansion bases and monitors as additional display screens.

The 75 cm from the ground to the top are adequate, taking into account that the Belenor does not have height adjustment. This function is interesting, but is reserved for tables of higher level and price where you can also find motors and even memories to store the position of various profiles/users. It also has no lighting. If you’re looking for all those extra features, Newskill has high-end models that have it all. The one we like the most from Newskill is the Tanaris RGB PRO, with RGB backlighting and adjustable in height with a hydraulic motor.

Summarizing. Newskill Belenor is a value proposition for users looking for their first dedicated table or those looking to purchase a economic model of guarantees in your market segment. Like all peripherals from this manufacturer, it is focused on gamingbut it can be used equally as a workplace or educational.
