Nintendo: you will soon no longer be able to connect to your account with Facebook or Twitter

Nintendo has just announced that players that from October 25, it will no longer be possible to use their Facebook or Twitter account to connect to their services. The accounts concerned will remain online and it will still be possible to connect to them via their email address and password, or via their Google and Apple accounts.

If you use your Facebook or Twitter account to sign in to your Nintendo Account, we recommend that you set up a password as soon as possible. Indeed, the Japanese firm has just announced that these connection methods will no longer be supported from October 25th. No explanation was provided to justify this decision, the manufacturer preferring rather to give more precision as to the other ways of connecting.

To start, Nintendo specifies that the users concerned will not be disconnected from their account on October 25. However, if for some reason they need to reconnect, they can still use the good old method of email address and password. If you already have a password for your Nintendo Account, you don’t need to do anything. Otherwise, you will need to click on “Forget password” and use your email address to set one up.

Note also that Nintendo also allows the possibility of reusing Google or Apple to connect to its account. Only social networks will no longer work within a month. The same goes for the creation of an account which, on the other hand, will therefore no longer be possible with Facebook or Twitter. There remains one last type of player who could find themselves facing an obstacle after the deadline: those who no longer have access to their email address.

Indeed, if this is your case, you will have a hard time logging in or setting up a new password. However, your Nintendo account will not be completely lost. The Japanese firm gives the possibility to those concerned to contact its customer service to explain the problem to them and to find recover their blocked data.
