normal games, VR and AR

Every designer’s dream is to find the key to a product that can be used for practically anything. And when we talk about a gamepad, there’s nothing like ensuring that both normal console and PC games, as well as virtual and augmented reality games, can be adapted to hardware capable of resisting everything without problems. Well then, a designer offers the world a quite… original proposal?

One controller to control them all

It has been thanks to Yifeeling Design that We have received a proposal that both Sony and Valve or HTC and HP could take into account for their future projects linked, above all, with virtual and augmented reality, since it is capable of adapting to the needs of the experience that we are enjoying. The result of this work is the controller that you can see in the different images that we attach, and that give an idea of the many paths that a good concept can take.

This gamepad has a key feature which is the possibility of unanchoring an entire end from the main assembly which becomes a movement control like the ones that VR glasses sets and their controls usually have (PS Move, for example). That is the key to packagewhich would allow us to manage the action with simple gestures that we make in the air and that are translated into actions related to the movement of our hands within the games.

In addition, it would have a whole surface dedicated to the Start button, so that you do not lose when you press it, two buttons for specific actions, a stick analogue and another device as a trigger on the top. What’s more, that module that we can unpin from the main gamepad, we can place it inside an accessory that allows us to carry it and bring it anywhere, even hanging from your neck, to always have a way to handle augmented reality (AR) experiences on tablets, for example, with reliability.

Also for left handed users

This controller, in its normal configuration, offers a fairly recognizable layout with two sticks analog, circular eight-way crosshead, the classic four buttons (ABYX), shortcuts for screen capture and Home, four triggers on the top, a green surface as a touch panel? in the style of the PS5 DualSense and even volume control to raise or lower it.

Another of the characteristics that this gamepad boasts is that It is also designed for left-handed users. It must be said (from my own experience) that in the case of gamepads, using the left hand as a priority does not condition the way we use it too much, but if this is not your case, know that you will be able to obtain a more adjusted experience with that module that we can unpin and that will fit your hand like a glove.

for now, this gamepad is a project that a studio wanted to develop and publish, we don’t know if with the intention that a big hardware brand see it and take the step of trying to bring it to stores. For now stay with the idea that the same sooner than we expect we find that we can get one.
