Our readers say: how much would you be willing to spend on a graphics card?

Buying a graphics card has become, for many users, a problem. Prices skyrocketed last year, and despite the fact that demand has completely normalized, the truth is that the same has not happened with the price of sale that, in most cases, is still too inflated.

Yes, today we can buy any graphics card without problems and without having to accept the inflated prices of the resale market, and it is true that there has been some normalization at the level of costs, but this has been partial and still today it is impossible to find certain graphics cards at their recommended retail price.

The announcement of the GeForce RTX 4090 and GeForce RTX 4080 made it clear that we are still a long way from seeing full normalization, and only AMD seems willing to maintain or slightly increase sales prices with its new generation of graphics cards. This is good news, but we must bear in mind that in the end it will be at the cost of offering lower performance.

coexistence of the GeForce RTX 30 and GeForce RTX 40, and probably also that of the Radeon RX 6000 and Radeon RX 7000, it will take some getting used to as well.keep dealing with very high prices. I want the waters to return to their normal course and prices to return to more reasonable levels, but I am afraid that we will not see significant changes until the international economic situation returns to normal and the euro gains strength again against the dollar.

This reality has made many users decide put off buying your new graphics card, while others have simply adjusted their purchase to the new market reality, either spending more money to buy a high-performance model doing the opposite, that is, spending less but giving up a high level of power.

I think all of this leads to a discussion that can be quite interesting, how much would you be willing to spend on your new graphics card and why? As always I get wet first. With the current scenario, and taking into account my needs, my monitor and my level of demand I would try not to exceed 1,000 euros, and I would seriously consider buying a refurbished model from a store, that is, with a two-year warranty. Now it’s your turn, we read in the comments.
