If we do our own research, we will notice that Marca newspaper has a statistical database from which we can extract the information to know who is the player with the most Chilean goals. So, why doesn’t Perplexity do it? Because it is not possible to compare the data with another source. If Marca’s information were wrong or outdated, the system’s answer would be wrong.
The fact that Perplexity is up to date with current events can be useful for querying frequently changing issues: knowing the price of the dollar in relation to the legal tender, what the price of electricity will be tomorrow, or what the weather is like at that very moment. It is worth noting that with topics such as the price of the dollar, the system is able to provide a concrete answer instantly because the Central Bank publishes the amount the day before; but with respect to ongoing situations, the reliability of the answers may not be entirely accurate.
Topics that have little or no change, such as historical events or new legislation, will generally have accurate answers; because artificial intelligence will be able to compare many sources to verify that the information is correct. Some other topics, such as advice on product purchases, will have concise communication with a lower percentage of reliability; while the extended version will be detailed and better sourced.
