Commissioning of the Proscenic P12

The first thing that stands out in a positive way when you receive the new Proscenic P12 handheld vacuum cleaner is that its box is square and not very large. The secret is that your suction tube is telescopicso together with the rest of the components (main equipment, wall bracket, two extra suction heads, power cable and floor brush) it does not take up much.

The main team (which you can see in the images that accompany this article) has the dust bin (with a capacity of 1.2 litres), the led screen from which we change to the different suction modes and in which light icons are also shown to indicate if the container is full, if the floor brush is blocked and the percentage of battery that we have left, as well as the HEPA outletthe battery and the dust bin release button.

Before starting to use the Proscenic P12 it is advisable to charge its battery to the maximum. We think it’s a good idea that you don’t have to take all the main equipment (as is the case with some competitive cordless vacuum cleaners) and plug it into the mains. Thanks to the battery extraction button, it can be removed and connected to the current to start charging.

While the battery is charging, a blue light comes on, and when it goes off, it is fully charged. We had it for 2 hours and 40 minutes and we have read that it usually takes a little longer, but it is true that the battery was not completely discharged. In addition, since it is removable, another unit could be purchased in order to double the suction time (on the Proscenic website there is an accessories section where there is not yet one for the P12, but they will surely update it shortly).

The moment of aspiration

Once we have fully charged the battery of the Proscenic P12, it is time to put it to the test in cleaning tasks. His brushless motor provides a 33 kPa suction (120 AW) in four speeds. By default it starts at the second speed and it is possible to increase the suction power (and also lower it) by pressing from its LED screen.

The manufacturer talks about 60 minutes of autonomy in silent mode (the first of them and with less suction power) and even 13 minutes at max (the fourth level). In our tests, the reality is that with a fully charged battery we spent 4 minutes and 24 seconds with maximum power and the battery percentage dropped to 39%. After letting it rest for a while, we returned to aspire to the maximum for 1 minute and 56 seconds and the battery ended up completely discharged.

It is interesting that the floor brush comes with V-shaped guide bristles, which reduces tangles caused by hair (very useful if we have dogs or cats at home) and thus the operation is more fluid. Also, highlight the Vertect Light technologywhich is the green light that you can see in the image below and that detects dust particles (dirt in general) that are invisible to the naked eye and that when vacuuming helps us to make cleaning more effective.

The maneuverability of the Proscenic P12 is quite good. His 180º swivel direction It allows us to clean in places that are difficult to access from any angle and also thanks to its retractable suction tube we can adapt it to the length that best suits us. The truth is that the brush glides easily on hard floors such as stoneware or wood, but it requires a little push on rugs or carpets.

Also say that the vacuum works with a trigger. To start vacuuming, simply squeeze it once and release it. If we want to turn it off, we will have to press the trigger a second time.

As for his five stage filtration system, it has cyclonic dust separation and two HEPA filters that capture 99.99% of dust particles and expel purified, allergen-free air. To clean the dust tank, we can press a button that releases the lid and drops the dirt, or also remove the entire tank when we are going to clean the components of the filtration system.

conclusions

The Proscenic P12 is a cordless vacuum cleaner that is priced well for the features it offers and is less than other competing models. However, it suffers from the shortcomings that most cordless vacuum cleaners have, we are referring to the short duration of its battery and a limited suction capacity.

If we are clear that a vacuum cleaner of this type is never going to be a substitute for the usual vacuum cleaner that we connect to the electrical network and that also has much more suction power, buying the Proscenic P12 will be a great idea to carry out daily maintenance of the floors faster and leave the “heavy artillery” for once or twice a week.

Final assessment

SUMMARY

The Proscenic P12 is a cordless vacuum cleaner that has four different suction modes and a front green light that detects dirt that is difficult to see with the naked eye.
