Razer Edge 5G, cloud gaming in your pocket

The recently announced Razer Edge 5G is one more example that the portable game console ecosystem is experiencing a particularly effervescent period, after Sony’s departure from that market, with the end of PS Vita production in March 2019, left Nintendo, with its hybrid Switch, as a reference device in that market. Something that implied that the demand was minimal, probably as a result of the fact that many users already used the smartphone to play and, therefore, did not need a laptop.

However, Valve made us change perspective with the launch, last year, of Steam Deck, a device that has been able to win the interest of many users and that, in addition, has reactivated said market, something that has been noticed both in portable consoles based on X86-64 and Windows (of which we can find a large number of devices in Asian stores such as Aliexpress) as well as models that are based on ARM and Android, capable of running games designed for this operating system and optimized for cloud gaming.

What was missing, yes, was for leading brands to join this market to finish revitalizing it, but this seems to be changing, first with the recently launched Logitech G, and now with the expected and promising Razer Edge 5Ga portable video console that we already knew about a few weeks ago (although, strictly speaking, we already had a first preview in November of last year) and that will still take a few months to reach the market, but of which we already know all the details .
