Salesforce and Google Workspace will make their AI assistants work together

Salesforce and Google have announced at the Dreamforce 2023 event a extension of your agreementwhich implies that Salesforce CRM and Google Workspace will have integrations bidirectional of their respective AI assistantswhich will allow their customers to gather context from Salesforce and the tools that make up the Google Workspace suite to use AI to drive content generation on both platforms.

With these integrations, users will be able to work without barriers with Salesforce and Google Workspace generative AI assistants, Einstein Copilot and Duet AI. Salesforce customers will be able to use their own account, contacts, and opportunity data to generate slides and documents in Workspace. They will also be able to bring summaries from Google Meet and context from Gmail and Google Calendar to Salesforce, with the goal of updating records or activating workflows.

As part of the collaboration, both companies have worked together to make their generative AI assistant offerings extensible, and each of them will be the first partner to be available through the other’s third-party platforms.

In addition to facilitating everyday work, the expansion of this agreement will help increase productivity by providing the right data and context when it is needed. They will also allow you to take advantage of the advantages of generative AI in the workflow.

The integrations will allow users to generate personalized content on both platforms, so that they have the opportunity to create personalized and contextual content in Workspace, such as emails or documents, in both one suite and the other, through access to Relevant Salesforce information about past meetings, customer interactions, and sales results.

Another improvement that the extension of this agreement will bring is the possibility of keeping Salesforce records updated from Google Workspace context. Users of the Salesforce platform will be able to leverage Workspace information automatically, improving their productivity and reducing the amount of manual tasks. They will also be able to automate processes and eliminate the need for context switching, automatically generating interaction and meeting summaries, scheduling follow-ups and assigning tasks. All from Salesforce and Workspace context.

Salesforce is the first partner to integrate with Google Workspace’s Duet AI extension framework. The Google suite, in turn, is the first partner for the new Salesforce Einstein Copilot. The latter will be able to access relevant content in Workspace to enrich workflows of sales, customer service, marketing or e-commerce areas and departments, among others. Each of these integrations has the user data and privacy protections that they have in both Salesforce and Workspace.

Google and Salesforce have also announced the possibility of carry large language models deployed in Vertex AIincluding Google’s PaLM family of models, to the Einstein 1 platform. This way, experiences with generative AI can be developed in Customer 360.
