After finish with the restructuring of Tableau, Salesforce has already chosen the one who will be its new managerand. According to Bloomberg, it is ryan aytay, who since February 2022 was Tableau’s CRO (Chief Revenue Officer). He has previously held other management positions in the company, in which he has been with for 16 years. In his new role, he will report to Salesforce COO Brian Millham on the company’s progress.

With this step, Salesforce culminates the process initiated after the closing of the purchase of Tableau, for which they paid 15.7 billion dollars, to facilitate the integration of their products and technologies in the different divisions, areas and packages of Salesforce tools.

From now on, Aytay, as Tableau’s new CEO, will have the mission of continuing to offer support and tools to its main users, data visualization professionals. Aytay noted that his team has been adding new features to Tableau for some time now, including various systems for working more closely with Slack. He also said that Tableau’s annualized revenue has doubled since it was bought in 2019.

The operation is considered one of the great agreements that have driven Salesforce in its expansion. But now, with some pressure from investors to control costs and increase profitability, Salesforce is more focused on integrating the large companies it has bought in recent years. Among them, in addition to Tableau, are Slack and MuleSoft.
