Surface Book, Pro, Duo: where to follow the Microsoft Surface conference this Wednesday evening live?

After Apple, it is Microsoft’s turn to present its novelties for the start of the school year. The publisher of Windows is expected to unveil no less than 5 new Surface products tonight this Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Here’s how to follow the conference live, and what to expect.

At 5 p.m. (Paris time) this Wednesday, September 22, 2021, Microsoft will hold a major press conference intended to unveil its new home computers. On the program, we expect new Surface computers and even a new Surface Duo 2 phone. Here’s how to follow this event live.

How to follow the Microsoft Surface conference?

The content of the Microsoft announcements is not really in doubt, since even the invitation card hints at the outline of a Surface computer.

If you want to see these new features live, it’s simple:

If you want to be alerted at the start of the conference, Microsoft Surface Twitter account offers you to set a reminder.

Surface Book, Surface Pro, Surface Duo… What to expect from the Microsoft conference?

Unless there is a big last minute surprise, Microsoft should unveil 5 products tonight, including four computers (all ready for Windows 11 of course).

Surface Pro 8

The most anticipated Microsoft gadget will probably be the Surface Pro 8. The Surface Pro lineage dates back to 2012 and embodies what a laptop should be, according to Microsoft.

The hybrid tablet-PC machine isn’t expected to change much from last year’s model. The screen should be a little bigger and support 120 Hz. We should find an 11th generation Intel processor and some other technical improvements like the addition of a Thunderbolt port or the possibility of changing SSDs. The machine should also abandon all USB-A ports, in favor of USB-C ports.

Surface Pro X

The other highly anticipated model of this conference is the new Surface Pro X. The machine is expected, like previous models, to adopt an ARM mobile architecture and update its technical sheet compared to last year’s model.

Few aesthetic changes are expected, but the product will be very scrutinized, since the computer will be a front-end competitor of the MacBook M1, also under ARM architecture.

Surface Book 4

Launched in 2015, the Surface Book line has always amazed, due to unusual design choices. Until then, computers were distinguished by a hinge of a particular type.

This year, the new model should change its design and abandon the principle of the detachable screen. Instead, we will find a screen capable of folding over the keyboard to provide a tablet-like experience. The computer will also likely adopt a variable refresh rate, which will save battery power and provide better display fluidity.

Surface Go 3

The Surface Go line is for those who want a Microsoft device without breaking the bank. The small format computer (the last model was equipped with a 10-inch screen) will benefit this year from a refresh of technical characteristics and should even switch to an Intel Core i3 processor. No cargo hold to prepare for Windows 11.

Surface Duo 2

The last product expected tonight is quite different from the others, since it is an Android phone. Microsoft is preparing a successor to the Surface Duo released in late 2020.

The mobile should still adopt the famous two-screen construction. It will also carry a triple camera on the back to try to compete with other high-end smartphones. The rest of the datasheet will be quite expected with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and 5G compatibility. The first model having been widely crushed by the press when it was released, Microsoft is playing big on this new mobile.
