Synology Introduces DiskStation DS223j

Synology has introduced the DiskStation DS223j, a small-sized and entry-level NAS that positions itself in the J seriesand which, according to the company, has been designed to seamlessly cover the needs of offices, SMEs and small work groups in general.

As we can see in the image, the Synology DiskStation DS223j has a very compact size and a simple, clean and markedly minimalist design. This NAS has the Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating systemwhich offers a simple and intuitive interface and is full of possibilities.

The Synology DS223j offers different options and applications for everyday data storage and management, among which we can highlight file synchronization and sharing, backup and video surveillance. It also includes backup, file sharing and synchronization applications that can be used to improve remote and collaborative work.

Michael Wang, Product Manager at Synology Inc, commented:

“The DS223j is an excellent NAS for small environments, whether it be home offices or even slightly larger ones. With the DS223j, customers get efficient hardware in power along with all the data management and protection tools they will need to manage their files effectively.”

This NAS has a 36TB maximum storage capacity without format, an amount that, as we said at the beginning, should be more than enough to cover the storage needs of small offices, shops, SMEs and work groups made up of few people. It has full integration with Google Drive, Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive, but we can also use it to create our private cloud. (Adipex)

The Synology DiskStation DS223j will be updated to the operating system DiskStation Manager 7.2, which means it will become the first J-series Synology NAS to support the Btrfs file system. This will translate into very important advantages, among which we can highlight automatic file repair to mitigate data corruption, as well as Synology’s snapshot replication function.

We can also create snapshots frequently and use them to revert unwanted and accidental file changes, and use this NAS to monitor up to 12 IP cameras. The C2 Surveillance solution will allow us to encrypt, archive and backup all surveillance content we have obtained.
