The 12 features that are coming very soon to Threads and that will humiliate Twitter the most

Last week, Threads, the new social network of Meta/Instagram, made its debut with a very clear objective: to give the last punt to Twitter. At first, this new social network looks like a clone very inspired by Elon Musk’s social network, but eliminating all those features, introduced in recent months, that users don’t like at all. However, despite being promising, its launch has been too fast. And apart from not being available in Spain, it also does not have essential functions that should be on this social network.

Luckily, despite the fact that its launch has been very accelerated, those responsible for Meta are working to be able to shape this new social network as soon as possible and add all those functions and features that have been left in the pipeline. So he has assured it Adam Mosserithe person in charge of Instagram, in his new social network, where he has answered the doubts and questions of the users, leaving us a very interesting and promising to-do list.

Upcoming features coming to Threads

The goal of Threads is not just to imitate Twitter, but also to offer free to all users all those features that Elon Musk wants us to pay for. Thus, according to the person in charge of Instagram, the new functions that we are going to find, very soon, in this new social network are:

  • Hashtags. A social network like Twitter without the hashtags leaves a lot to be desired. Since they exist on Facebook and Instagram, it won’t take long for them to reach Threads. And we can click (or press) on them to see them in more detail.
  • Multiaccount. There are users who have two, or more, accounts on social networks. Of course, we can quickly switch from one to the other.
  • A section of trends where to see the most commented topics in real time.
  • Ability to edit messages. One of the most anticipated functions of Twitter, finally became a reality, but only paid. Threads wants to bring this feature to all users of its social network.
  • See messages only from people we follow on the social networknot recommendations.
  • A better search system.
  • An integrated translator for messages in other languages.
  • Ability to tag people in photos and videosas in Facebook and Instragram.
  • A web versiona feature that we do not understand how it has not been released.
  • Ability to add animated GIF images to messages. What is a social network without its memes?
  • A function to anchor Threads important documents, keep them close at hand and make them easier for others to read.
  • Possibility of sharing from Instagram complete entries without having to copy-paste.

Other features we would like to request from Meta

Although with the previous functions we would already have a social network, we would personally like to ask for other functions that could be interesting. The first one is a free API that allows developers to create third-party clients, more complete than the original, and other integrations, such as automatically publishing blog news on the social network.

Another very interesting feature would be the ability to import Twitter contacts to Threads so as not to lose anyone along the way. A good anti-trolls system, and the facility to delete the entire list of messages to leave our account at zero without having to resort to third-party programs and tools would also be excellent features.

Threads just arrived. And Elon Musk is afraid. We will see if in the end this social network stays in something.
