The AirPods 3 that we will see tomorrow will not replace the AirPods 2

Kuo has been saying for days that at the event tomorrow Tuesday Tim Cook will take a couple of AirPods 3. At last Apple will launch the rumored third generation AirPods. But now the Korean expands the information a little more, saying that this new generation is not going to replace the previous one.

He says that, at least for a time, Apple will continue to sell the AirPods 2 current together with the new AirPods 3. What is not clear is whether the company will lower the price of the existing ones today, or will keep it, thus leaving the new ones more expensive. Tomorrow we will leave doubts.

In a press report published by the Korean analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this one affirms that Apple will present in the keynote tomorrow the third generation of its famous AirPods headphones. So far, nothing new that we already did not know.

The novelty is that today it has stated that Apple will continue to sell the second generation AirPods when the new ones start to be sold. He therefore believes that this implies that the AirPods 3 are sold at a higher price than the current ones, or that the AirPods 2 have a price drop if the new ones adapt the price of the current model with wireless charging.

Kuo doesn’t know what Apple will do, but he would have said so. The only thing he has learned is that at least for a time, the two generations of AirPods will coexist for sale, the second and the third.

The Korean analyst also predicts good numbers for these devices. Kuo expects the launch of the AirPods 3 to have a positive impact on Apple’s wireless headphone sales, predicting a 10-15% sales increase for the first quarter of 2022.

At the moment, no short-term update of the AirPods Pro. Sure the company is already working on it, but it would be for next year. For now, tomorrow we can see how these new AirPods 3 have worked.
