The Armando Álvarez Group has participated in the start-up of the ANAIP Seal of the Spanish and Sustainable Plastics Industry and has achieved its highest category, that of excellence. This seal is a certification mark registered at the EU level, in which the Spanish Association of Plastics Industry (ANAIP) has been working for months and which was officially presented coinciding with World Environment Day. It supposes a recognition to the efforts of the companies of the sector of the plastics to reach the sustainability and to maintain his production in Spain.
As an active member of ANAIP, Grupo Armando Álvarez participates in the association’s communication commission and, together with other companies and associations in the sector, has formed part of the interdisciplinary working group that has developed this certification mark, that was born with the vocation of being identified with reliability, rigor and reference.
The working group has met periodically over the last year to establish the economic, social and environmental criteria that companies must meet to achieve this mark, an intense effort that has resulted in a document that works as a checklist to facilitate interested companies on the path to sustainability.
These criteria are organized by areas, grouping them into environmental and socioeconomic aspects. Each criterion includes a series of parameters whose compliance is demonstrated with the delivery of documentary evidence when starting the trademark application process. An internal ANAIP committee verifies the evidence, determining which category of seal corresponds to it (one star, two stars, three stars or excellence) and follows up.
“We are convinced that this seal will be a reference for all those companies that are looking for reliable sources of supply and wish to establish commercial agreements with partners that are aligned with their same social and environmental values.
Having obtained the qualification of Excellence in the ANAIP seal of the Spanish and Sustainable Plastics Industry, in addition to the pride that it implies for the recognition of the work associated withallows us to endorse the Company’s commitment to the permanent improvement of business sustainability”, exposes Andrés García de Tuñón, responsible for sustainability of the Armando Álvarez Group.
“This brand is a large-scale project for which we have dedicated a lot of time and effort −explains Luis Cediel, general director of ANAIP−, but we are very satisfied because companies are responding with great interest. It is time to work for sustainability and to show society that the plastics industry in our country is a serious, innovative, committed industry that adds value”.
