The GeForce RTX 4060 will arrive in July and will be equipped with 8 GB of VRAM

Within NVIDIA’s catalog of next-generation graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 4060 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated models, and it is perfectly normal, since this will be the star product of those in green to cover the mid-range. We knew that its launch would take place this summer, although we could not specify an exact month.

According to a recent leak, the GeForce RTX 4060 will arrive in the month of Julyright after the launch of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, which should hit stores at the end of this same month of May. Nothing of what we have said is officially confirmed, but this information makes sense and fits perfectly with the strategy that NVIDIA has been adopting, so it should be followed.

Regarding the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, we are clear about its specifications and its possible performance, but in the case of the GeForce RTX 4060 things are a bit more complicated, especially since its specifications have not yet been confirmed. Some media say that it will have a total of 3,072 shaders, the same as the Mobile version, but this could be a mistakeas the GeForce RTX 40 series laptop models do not have the same shader count as their desktop counterparts.

GeForce RTX 4060

Think, for example, of the GeForce RTX 4070 Mobile, which has 4,608 shaders while the desktop version has 5,888 shaders, and that Those 3,072 shaders would put it below the 3,584 shaders that the GeForce RTX 3060 has.. Since nothing is definitive yet, we can only wait for NVIDIA to make a move. Luckily the wait will not be very long, because as we have said the launch of the GeForce RTX 4060 will take place in July.

What does seem quite clear is that said graphics card will be configured with 8 GB of graphics memory, the same figure that the Ti version will have, although we have a little surprise about the latter, and that is that according to a new rumor NVIDIA would be preparing a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti configured with 16 GB graphics memory that would also hit the market in July.

In terms of performance, the GeForce RTX 4060 should be around $399, will offer similar performance to a GeForce RTX 3070 in raster with much lower power consumption, but will clearly beat it in ray tracing and will have the appeal of supporting frame generation via DLSS 3. The Ti version should be in the $499 range, it will rank more or less at the level of a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti in raw performance, it will have much lower consumption, it will be more powerful in plotting of rays and will support generation of frames.
