The Spanish company, Ekuore, wins the European Digital Excellence Award from FedEx Express

The winners of the European competition Small Business Grant have recently been announced by FedEx Express.

Ekuore, a Spanish smart medical device company that operates in 47 countries, has won the Excellence award Digital for its clear digital integration. This firm has developed the first wireless digital stethoscope that can be connected to a smartphone or tablet to record and store information for more reliable diagnoses. It also reduces the risk of infection among healthcare professionals as its products provide isolation between doctors and patients.

The Grand Prize of the FedEx contest, endowed with 50,000 euros, has gone to byAcre, a Danish startup that designs and produces mobility solutions. This company has been considered the most innovative and passionate small business in Europe out of more than 2,100 applications submitted, the highest number of registrations achieved to date. Through an aesthetic and functional approach, byAcre designs walkers with the goal of breaking the stigma associated with mobility and helping people stay active.

The Small Business Grant contest was born in the US in 2012 with the aim of helping small companies with less than 50 employees to achieve their growth ambitions. In Europe it first launched in 2016 in three countries and expanded to five in 2019, laying the foundation for this year’s biggest contest to date. Small Business Grant continues to expand year after year around the world, recognizing small businesses that show passion and innovation.

Helena Jansson, SVP Finance International at FedEx Express and one of the judges for the Small Business Grant competition comments: “At an uncertain time when small businesses need more support than ever, we are delighted to award and recognize the winners of this year’s contest. It has been a difficult choice given the excellent quality of the entries, but our four main winners showed exceptional ambition and innovation, and we are excited to help them write their next chapters in the future”.
