CES never disappoints. The fair is filled with companies eager to capture the attention and find the financing they need to bring their product to production, and this year it has been possible to see one that has achieved its goal, since the spotlight revolved around the Displace TV, a wireless Smart TV.

This is the real TV without cables

Yes, when we say wireless, we mean wireless at all. Zero. Far from offering systems like Samsung’s invisible fiber optic cable, or futuristic wireless power systems, Displace’s proposition is quite simple: batteries. Yes, batteries like those in laptops or any other device. The fact that it is not portable does not mean that mounting a battery is a bad idea. In fact, it turns it into just that, a portable 4K TV.

On the one hand, there are the batteries. It has several removable battery packs that allow you to use the screen for about a month if we use it for about 6 hours a day. The interesting thing is that its interior is so full of batteries that there seems to be no room for a processor to control the Smart TV functions, since it will be an external box (completely wireless) that manages the entire system and the video signals.

At least this box includes something especially new, since it will not be limited to a single screen, but will also be able to send content to up to 6 screens in total simultaneously. This means that you could have 6 completely wireless screens at home and a single switchboard that sends the image.

There are no images of this switchboard yet. The description seems to us to understand that it will be something like that monstrous wireless box that LG also presented at CES for one of its Smart TVs without cables (minus the power cable), but there are not too many details about it. Something tells us that the version shown at CES simply had a simple media board inside the TV for demoing, and that the master box is still in production.

Another very striking detail that defines this peculiar television is that two large suction cups are hidden on its back, which together with an emptying system is responsible for holding the screen on any flat surface, as it could be a crystal. This is something that we find especially surprising and that invites us to think of catastrophic moments fodder for memes, but hey, the system seems to work, and something tells us that it will be ideal for those luxury mansions with giant windows that overlook the garden.

The price

As you can imagine this magical invention will not be especially cheap. The price of the model 55 inches with the video transmitter will cost $3,000, while the pack of 4 TVs (with which you can create a gigantic 110-inch 8K screen) of 55 inches with the video transmitter will reach $9,000. The models are limited units, and at the time of writing this article there are only 8 units of the 1 TV + transmitter pack left.
