Voi appoints Álvaro Rodríguez senior public policy manager of the company

The European operator continues to consolidate its expansion strategy in Spain with the incorporation of Álvaro Rodríguez, former director of Public Affairs and Brand at Ferrovial, as senior public policy manager. After its first six months operating in the country, the company has decided to increase its investment in the national territory and increase its team, combining its commitment to young talent and professionals with extensive experience in the sector.

Álvaro Rodríguez has assumed his new position with the aim of promoting the shared micromobility in Spanish cities, as a lever to reduce pollution, improve mobility and promote multimodality. Rodríguez arrives after his experience as director of Public Affairs and Brand in Ferrovial, where he was an ambassador and spokesperson for the company before environmental, business and government organizations.

Rodríguez is a doctor in Economics specialized in Circular Economy by the Complutense University of Madrid, center for which he also graduated in Business Administration. In addition, he is director of the Master of Corporate Communication and Reputation at the International School of Communication. Likewise, he assumes the work of general coordinator of Climate Leaders in Spain at The Climate Reality Project, an organization created by the former vice president of the United States, Al Gore; and also as a consultant at the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA), dependent on the United Nations.

With more than 20 years of experience in the communication sector, he has held positions of responsibility in the Dircom association and the Association of Institutional Relations Professionals (APRI), as well as in companies such as Arka Consulting, Holcim, Villafañe & Asociados, Lyrsa or British American Tobacco.

Álvaro Rodríguez Martínez will report to Noemi moya, Director of Institutional and Government Relations of Voi Technology for Spain and France, in charge since January 2021.

Voi investment in Spain

Voi already has a staff of 24 people in Spain (17 of them in Seville, two in Malaga, three in Madrid and four in Barcelona), a figure that the company expects to increase in the next year in case of active operations in new cities. The data obtained after carrying out a balance of the first period of its operations from the offices of Barcelona and Madrid, They have prompted the company to strengthen its Spanish team to face the future expansion of Voi in other cities.

The scooter operator landed this year in Spain with a team of just one person. After the rapid growth it has experienced since its arrival, Voi will continue to invest in the country with the aim of bringing micromobility to more cities, in its commitment to promoting more sustainable and efficient travel, in accordance with policies and ambitions in terms of sustainability of Spanish cities.
