The new boss of Volkswagen has preferred synthetic gasoline to electric, difficult to ignore the attraction shown by users for the green models of the German brand. Proof of this is with the full box of the Volkswagen ID. buzz.

Indeed, the electric version of the manufacturer’s famous combi is about to be out of stock. A great performance, while the vehicle is not even available in dealerships and no one has seen it on the roads yet. According to our colleagues from the specialized site Automotive News, nearly 10,000 IDs. Buzz have already found takers in Europe.

Note that Volkswagen had set itself the goal of selling 15,000 copies of the ID. Buzz on the Old Continent by the end of 2022. Given the popularity of the vehicle, there is no doubt that VW will succeed in achieving its goal.

ID. Buzz: a hit even before the official launch

If we look in detail, Norway concentrates the most pre-orders, with 3400 models sold. Germany is on the second step of the podium with 2,500 reservations made, then the Netherlands, with 1,100 order forms delivered. Note that France and the United Kingdom are absent from the ranking since pre-orders are not yet open in these two countries.

It should be remembered that Volkswagen had to stop production of the ID. Buzz in June 2022 at the Hannover plant. The cause ? A problem spotted on the batteries of a new supplier. At the beginning of July, these concerns were resolved and Volkswagen was able to resume its cruising speed of 180 vehicles manufactured per day.

Note that the German brand intends to intensify the production of the ID. Buzz from 2023, with a cap set at 60,000 copies for the year. We are therefore a long way from the 15,000 units planned for 2022. In terms and if the ID. Buzz is successful, Volkswagen hopes to be able to assemble 160,000 vehicles each year. As a reminder, the electric van will be offered from €56,990 in its version dedicated to individuals, and from €47,990 in its Cargo model intended for professionals.
