The playful offer linked to Warhammer 40K expands with the arrival of two new board games for the futuristic miniatures wargame published by Games Workshop.
The British company from Nottingham has indeed released two new board games this week, namely Warhammer 40,000: Fireteam And Space Marine Adventures: Doomsday Countdown.

Fireteam is described as a simplified version of Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team and is a skirmish game focused on smaller teams of characters rather than full armies.
Games Workshop consider Fireteam as a perfect introductory title to the world of Warhammer 40K. The game includes two teams (a group of Space Marines and a team of Necron) and multiple scenarios in which to use them. Additionally, the game includes rules and cards for four other factions, each of which can be added later. Fireteam also includes the ability to turn skirmishes into mini-campaigns to give players a broader idea of the war raging in the 41st century.
Doomsday Countdown instead it is a cooperative board game that pits a small team of Space Marines against the Cao cultistss trying to detonate apocalyptic devices under an Imperial Hive City.

The world of Warhammer 40,000 is classified as sci-fi gothic.
The central and most famous element of the Warhammer 40,000 universe is the Space Marines, an anachronistic combination of sci-fi super-soldiers and medieval knight monks, among the best soldiers of the Imperium of Humanity, a dystopian and decadent version of the ” classic ”intergalactic states and undisputed protagonists of the scenario.
The setting of this story is the Materium, with all the action concentrated in the Milky Way. Much of it is controlled by the Imperium of Humanity, the preponderant galactic power present. The Imperium has many militarized branches at its disposal: the Imperial Guard (the regular army of the Imperium, formally called Astra Militarum), the space marines of the Adeptus Astartes, the Adepta Sororitas, the Adeptus Custodes, the Sisters of Silence, the houses of Imperial Knights and more. Each of these organizations is supplied by the Adeptus Mechanicus, the great cult of the machine whose heart lies on Mars. The imperial clergy, known as the Ecclesiarchy or Adeptus Ministorum, spread faith in the Emperor, while the Inquisition oversees the Imperium uncovering corruption, heresy and infiltration by alien races.
