The first Assassin’s Creed set in feudal Japan is gradually being revealed. Tom Henderson has indeed revealed some juicy new details about Red. In particular, it will be possible to embody a samurai as well as a shinobi. The gameplay, meanwhile, will be much more refocused on stealth and infiltration.
Ubisoft has been very clear in recent months: the publisher intends to capitalize as much as possible on its flagship license, the sacrosanct Assassin’s Creed. While players are waiting for Mirage to arrive later this year, another opus is also causing a lot of ink to flow within the community. We are of course talking about Redthe episode that will (finally) take place in feudal Japan, a historical period requested for years by fans.
For now, we still have little tangible information about the title, which was only entitled to a short teaser published by Ubisoft. However, as usual, we can count on Tom Henderson to reveal a few details to us in advance. A few days ago, the leaker claimed that Red will allowembody two different characters. Today, the insider confirms this information, specifying that the characters in question will be a samurai and a shinobi.
We know more about the gameplay of Assassin’s Creed Red
Tom Henderson does not say more on the subject, except that it will be possible to choose the gender of the characters, as has been the case since Odyssey. Also, the shinobi character will be an African refugee, who would have found refuge within the Creed. On the other hand, another particularly interesting detail should be highlighted on the gameplay side. The leaker indeed explains that this one will be centered around the infiltration.

Like Splinter Cell or even Hitman, it will thus be possible to hide bodies, turn off lights or, in a more traditional way, to hide in the tall grass. A nice return to basics, which will in theory be initiated by the release of Mirage this year. The latter will also surely monopolize the presentation at E3, alongside Assassin’s Creed Nexus. If all goes well, Red should disembark running from thefall 2024.
