The Power Toys Utilities Suite for Windows 10 and 11 includes two new tools that will prove indispensable for productivity buffs.
Do we still have to present Power Toys, these tools offered by Microsoft since Windows 95, which add new functionalities to the operating system? These mini-applications, most often accessible via a keyboard shortcut or through a right mouse click, allow you, pell-mell, to manage the layout of your programs with FancyZones, to quickly resize image files with Image Resizer or even sample a color on the screen using Color Picker.

The program is enriched with two new tools that will make it essential for workaholics as well as for all users who have to process a lot of images on a daily basis. Mouse Without Borders is for Windows 10/11 users working on two computers simultaneously. It allows to share the same mouse and keyboard between two Windows PCs. Better still, the clipboard as well as the drag and drop function will be common to both machines, provided that they are on the same local network.
Windows gains two excellent productivity features
The Peek tool, on the other hand, is so loosely inspired by the Preview feature available for ages on macOS, that it takes over not only the name, but also the keyboard shortcut. Strangely enough, if you do not have Power Toys installed on your PC, it is quite tedious to view a photo or an image without opening it in a dedicated application, Paint, for example. Peek from Power Toys makes it easy to preview an image file by pressing Ctrl + Space.
As we can see, with these two new tools, the focus is on speed, efficiency and productivity. Aspects that will be further reinforced by the many new features that should soon land in the operating system of the Redmond firm. The news of the OS is indeed abundant. We are talking in particular about the integration of AI through Copilot for Windowsthe arrival of a large number of Android applications, or the possibility of natively extracting the content of RAR files.
