With this new WhatsApp function, no one will see your most private chats

Here we can have extremely private conversations with our contacts either through the mobile or the desktop PC. Hence, the developers and heads of applications as important as the aforementioned WhatsApp, try to make things easier for us. This is something that they achieve through new functions, such as the one that we are going to tell you about now, especially focused on the privacy and security.

Surely many of you are fully aware that anyone who has access to our mobile can, in principle, take a look at the conversations or chats of the messaging app. This is something that perhaps many do not care about, while others do not find it funny at all. It may be the case that other people have access to our mobile phone, but we do not want them to see our conversations on WhatsAppfar from it.

Hence, now we are going to talk about a function that surely many of you have been waiting for years and that we will finally have in the messaging application. Specifically, we are referring to the possibility of protecting certain application chats by means of a password or fingerprint. We are going to achieve all this thanks to the feature originally called chat lock. Actually, we are referring to a function that Meta is already rolling out gradually among its users at this time.

Basically it is a new WhatsApp privacy function that allows us to block access by other people to our most personal conversations.

How WhatsApp chat lock works

To give you an approximate idea of how it works, say that the Chat Lock function creates a new folder. This is the one that can actually be locked with a password or with a biometric system as the fingerprint. It must be said that we activate this new method of privacy for conversations just by touching the name of a chat. Also, it is interesting to know that this is something that we can do with both individual and group chats.

On the other hand, we must also keep in mind that, block a chat, it is taken out of the inbox and placed in its own folder. We can only access it with the password that we have established on the mobile, by fingerprint, or facial recognition. Likewise, the function we are talking about now also automatically hides the details of the blocked chat in the notifications. With all this, what we really achieve is that others cannot access said chat if they use our mobile terminal.

There is no doubt that this novelty will be loved by all those who, for example, share their phone with another member of the family or with their partner. In addition, they will not even be able to see the notifications if a message accidentally arrives in that protected chat while another is using the mobile. In turn, this is only the beginning, since over time those responsible for WhatsApp plan to improve this functionality with new tools.
