When he presented his new Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro last December, Xiaomi had not introduced any Ultra models. While we had recently learned that the manufacturer finally intended to present the smartphone during the next summerwe now have an idea of what it might look like.

On Weibo, Machine leaker Wang Tengxiao posted new renders of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. These are based on the molds that were unveiled last Januaryon which we could see a giant circular photo module housing numerous sensors.

How many photo sensors will the Xiaomi 12 Ultra use?

On the renderings of Machine Wang Tengxiao, we can see that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra would be equipped with 5 photo sensors on the back, including two periscope cameras. However, it would be amazing to see Xiaomi opt for so many cameras on the back of his high-end smartphone, since he had only equipped his Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra than 3 sensors last year.

Leaker @xiaomiui had also previously announced that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra would only be equipped with three sensors, a 50 MP main sensor, a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 48 MP periscope sensor. In addition, the photo module would not be circular, so these renderings should be taken with a grain of salt.

Apart from the photo part, we know that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra should bet on Qualcomm’s new powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor. Engraved by TSMC, this one should fix overheating issues experienced by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 of current models. We also know that the smartphone should be equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, against only 4600 mAh on the Xiaomi 12 Pro. Its autonomy should therefore be up to the competition, unlike the Xiaomi 12 Pro which has a little trouble in this area.
