Xiaomi Mijia Air Pump 2

In the Xioami catalog there is a rather peculiar accessory that many users like. Its about portable tire inflator, a peripheral that you can take in the car for emergencies and that also serves to fill the wheels of the brand’s scooters, bicycles and anything else with air valves. But what exactly does this device have to have a third generation?

The new Xiaomi Mijia Air Pump 2 does not seem to differ too much from its predecessors, but in reality, the changes that have been made internally have allowed the product to work much more efficiently and effectively. On the one hand, the 19-millimeter inner cylinder achieves an inflation pressure of up to 150psi (same as the Air Pump 1S), however now inflation speed has increased by 25%since it is able to fill a tire in 8 minutes.

At the level of electronic hardware there are also changes, since the internal battery is 2,000 mAh and has incorporated a USB-C port for charging. According to official data, with the battery at maximum, it is capable of inflating a total of 10 tires, and with the different preset profiles we can select if we are going to connect the pump to a bicycle, a motorcycle, a car tire, an electric scooter or a ball

They have not forgotten to include a led light which will be very practical at times when we do not have light, especially in times of emergency on the road at night.

Is it worth the change?

If you already have an Air Pump 1S, you probably don’t need to buy the new model. After all, it is an accessory that can be had for emergencies and not for frequent use. If you use it to maintain your scooter’s tire pressure, the previous version will still be able to continue to do its job perfectly, so you won’t gain too much with the change.

Of course, if you still do not have one, getting the new version could be interesting, since you have a better battery, the functions that we have already mentioned and the introduction of the USB-C charging port.

How much does it cost?

At the moment the product is accepting reservations in China with a price of 199 yuan (about 26 euros to change), although it must be taken into account that these products usually have a higher price when they arrive in Europe, so do not expect it for less than 50 euros.
