YouTube for Android TV and Google TV will offer surround sound very soon

«We know that 5.1 audio is important to many of you, so we wanted to share an update. We are currently testing 5.1 audio on Google TV, Android TV, and Roku, and if all goes well, we can expect 5.1 audio to launch on those devices next.” Read the statement published by the company.

Google has not confirmed the exact date on which the update will be released globally, but it has indicated that some beta users are already testing this new sound feature before releasing the corresponding firmware update for all devices.
