
The general director of Social Economy and Autonomous of the Junta de Castilla y León, Emma Fernández, presided over the closing ceremony of the event CYL-HUB Avila, in which we participated by moderating a round table. In his speech, Fernández praised the CYL-HUB project and highlighted the firm commitment of the Junta de Castilla y León for entrepreneurship. In addition, this second day included a startup fair, where new entrepreneurs from Castilla y León presented their projects.
The closing ceremony, which has put the culmination of two days full of intense activities, has included the awards ceremony for the six best startups who participated in the pitch competition. The winning startup has been Gredos.io, from the province of Ávila, and obtains a direct pass to participate in the Digital Enterprise Show (DES), considered the largest European event in innovation and digitization and which will be held from June 13 to 15 in Malaga. Second place has gone to Genyus School and the third to Vive Basket. Xymbot Digital Solution SL has been fourth, Nocodeweb has been fifth and AXSOL has been sixth. All of them obtain the direct pass to participate in September in the Startup OLÉ international fair in Salamanca.
The Provincial Council of Ávila, the Ávila City Council, the University of Salamanca, Tracción Ávila, the Tatiana Pérez de Guzmán El Bueno Foundation, the Catholic University of Ávila, CEOE Ávila, Caja Rural de Salamanca, Clarke Modet and the TIMMIS Poliniza project have collaborated in the organization of the event, which has been supported by the Junta de Castilla y León through the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The first day was held at the USAL Higher Polytechnic School and the second was held at the Lienzo Norte Congress and Exhibition Center. More than 90 leading speakers, 21 startups, 20 corporations and investors and More than 200 participants in total.
CYL-HUB Ávila has also told with a total of 16 round tables, presentations, inspiring talks and workshops. In addition, this Friday an institutional act was held, which included interventions by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alberto Díaz Pico; Ángel Luis Muñoz, director of the Department of Cartographic and Terrain Engineering at USAL; María del Rosario Sáez, rector of the UCAV; Carlos García, president of the Provincial Council of Ávila; Diego Díez, president of CEOE Ávila, and Emilio Corchado, director of the CYL-HUB project.
The main objectives of this event have been that the participating startups could connect with different corporations and investors to get investment and clients and, of course, promote and boost talent, digitization and the entrepreneurial culture, as well as impact the younger generations, women, rural areas and the unemployed population, and attract them to become active players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, influencing the reduction of social gaps in the technological environment. In addition, startups were able to present their ideas and projects at the pitch competition, at the startup fair, and in private meetings with investors.
