CES 2022. Acer has presented three new Chromebooks to update its catalog under the Google platform. Designed for families, students and hybrid workers, they are offered in different sizes and formats and at a moderate price, as James Lin, General Manager of Laptops and Business and IT Products at Acer explains:

Acer Chromebook Spin 513
The most interesting of those presented uses a convertible format that with its 360-degree hinge system can be transformed to offer four different modes of use, such as the tent mode to make the most of the small spaces, the tablet mode to use it on the gear or the classic laptop on a desk.
In an aluminum chassis with support for the military grade MIL-STD 810H durability standard, the best of the convertible comes from its ‘VertiView’ multi-touch screen. 13.5 inch than with 3: 2 aspect ratio and native resolution expanded to 2256 x 1504 pixels gives users 18% more vertical space so they can see more content before having to move the cursor.
Your processor is a MediaTek Kompanio 1380 With eight cores it won’t break performance records, but it should be enough to move this rig. Its memory and storage capacity has not been detailed, but it will have the advanced wireless connectivity provided by Wi-Fi 6 and a USB Type-C port to connect peripherals, transfer data and charge mobile devices.
It incorporates a backlit keyboard for low light environments and a webcam, dual microphone and stereo speakers with support for DTS audio to enhance video calls and multimedia entertainment.
Acer Chromebook 315 and 314
Two old acquaintances who are updated on the occasion of the fair in Las Vegas. They mount respective screens with panel 15.6 and 14-inch IPS, optional multi-touch technology, use ARM SoCs and are designed as basic equipment for the entry-level equipment under Chrome OS.
Both offer Wi-Fi 6 and DTS Audio, with the 315 adding two USB-C ports and a dedicated MicroSD card reader. They also include a webcam, dual microphone, and stereo speakers with support for DTS audio.
Like the convertible, they come with the latest version of Chrome OS available and offer the main advantages of the platform, fast startup times, ease of use, security and access to Google applications for PCs and Android through Google Play.
Acer Chromebooks, availability and price
- Acer Chromebook Spin 513 (CP513-2H) will be available in Spain from April 2022 from 649 euros.
- Acer Chromebook 315 (CB315-4H / T) will be available in Spain from the first quarter of 2022 from 399 euros.
- Acer Chromebook 314 (CB314-3H / T) will be available in Spain from April 2022 from 369 euros.
