Books created by an AI, from coloring books and science fiction novels to more technical guides, are always more numerous on the Amazon store.
Since generative AIs a la ChatGPT and Dall-E have been made available to the general public, there has been a great fear among professionals that AI will replace them. The apprehension is justified, especially since many smart people are using the ability of this technology to generate content on demand (and by the kilometer) to try to earn a few pennies on Amazon, with books written on the go. -quickly by an AI. Without admitting it publicly, the e-commerce giant is doing nothing to combat this phenomenon.

It has become very easy to offer your book for sale across the Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing program. As a result, AI-generated books are increasingly arriving in the Kindle section of the e-commerce juggernaut. These works written by ChatGPT draw very heavily from the original sources from which the AI trainedand in this sense, many writers believe that they constitute an infringement of their copyrights.
ChatGPT-written books and reviews overwhelm Amazon
Amazon continues to happily accept these “synthetic” productions. More troublesome, however, are the fake comments, also generated by ChatGPT, that accompany these AI-generated books. This is not going to help improve the bad image of Amazon with the French public.
Beyond the disinformation that these false comments maintain, many journalists point out that the works created by ChatGPT and other Google Bards are not qualitative. And as more and more unscrupulous people use the works of others as training material for their AI, which themselves are used to create content, the risk is great that we go in circles. AIs will copy each other to create ever lower quality content.
