A study recently published by CIRP indicates that more and more Android smartphone users are switching to the adversary.
Operating systems for mobile devices from Google and Apple have evolved in parallel. And for good reason, Android and iOS were launched in the same year, in 2007. The two Silicon Valley giants have since been trying to convince smartphone users to adopt their own ecosystem, at the expense of that of the adversary, of course. In this little game, the brand to the apple seems to be more convincing than Google, according to this study published by CIRP.

Google and Apple have designed apps to migrate your most important data, so switching from one OS to another isn’t insurmountable. That said, the process can however be somewhat tedious, as it takes time. This is why adopting an operating system is often seen as entering into religion: one does not pass so easily as that to the adversary. The conclusion of CounterPoint’s analysis is therefore cause for concern for Google: for nine years, Android users inevitably switch to iPhone…to never go back.
Every year, one in seven Android users switches to iPhone
CIRP conducted its analysis in a very simple way: “We looked at iPhone purchase data over the past nine years, including the phone that iPhone buyers owned immediately prior to purchase. of their new iPhone. During the 12 month period ending March 2023, 15% of iPhone buyers said they changed their chapelwhile 83% said they stayed on an iPhone.”

In 2022, a record number of users have switched to Apple. This “conversion rate” to iOS has not been as high since 2018, but over the last nine years, we can say that on average 14.4% of owners of an Android smartphone have switched to iPhone. This undeniable and constant exodus is favored by the Android ecosystem split.
