Apple launches macOS Ventura 13.1, these are its news

The Cupertino giant has launched macOS Ventura 13.1, a new update of its well-known operating system for Mac that is accompanied by important news. For those who can’t upgrade to said operating system, Apple has also released macOS Big Sur 11.72 and macOS Monterey 12.6.2.

This macOS update introduces interesting new features, among which we can highlight the freeform app, which allows us to draw and write on a blank whiteboard-style canvas that can be used with friends and family. Another interesting novelty is the Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, that it extends end-to-end encryption to ‌iCloud‌ Backup, Notes, and Photos, and that it will improve the protection of our information in the event of a security breach.

To all of the above we must add other new features and minor bug fixes which also represent a clear value. These are the most relevant:

  • Improved search in Messages lets you find photos based on their content, such as a dog, a car, a person, or a text message.
  • Participant cursors on notes allow you to see live indicators as others make updates to a shared note.
  • Playing sound in the Find My app can now help us identify the location of nearby AirTags, AirPods Pro (2nd generation) cases, and Find My network accessories.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some notes to not sync with iCloud after making updates.
  • Fixed an issue where we could lose keyboard and mouse input in some apps and games.
