The Eco-Disruptive program, from Sanitas and Bupa, will continue until December

Sanitas and Bupa have launched the second edition of eco-disruptive, a talent program for innovation that will continue until December, in which 126 employees from all over the world participate. It combines sustainability, agile culture and transformation in order to significantly contribute to the health and well-being of the planet and people.

Aware of the importance that the health of the planet has on the health of people, the objective of this program is to find innovative solutions with a positive impact on health and the environment. through collaboration with startups in six different areas. The six areas of work will be: decarbonization, for the reduction of CO2; circular solutions, to reduce the use of natural resources; sustainable products and services that reduce the use of natural resources and harmful emissions; sustainable health choices, solutions that unite clients and clinical staff in the search for the reduction of the environmental impact in the field of health; healthy buildings that contribute to health care, well-being and care for the environment; urban restoration and regeneration to seek solutions that improve health with a positive impact on local communities.

There are six teams that respond to each of the areas, for each market unit, which means 18 teams in total: six for the United Kingdom; six for Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong; Y six for SpainMexico, Bolivia, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Ecuador, as part of the Europe and Latin America market unit.

Collectively, the teams have contacted more than 300 startups working on environmental issues around the world. The goal is to develop a minimum viable product (MVP) for a particular service within each theme within a month and a half. The teams will present the PMV and hold a vote from which a winner per business unit will emerge. Finally, a global event will be held from which the winning start-up will emerge thanks to the vote of Sanitas and Bupa employees around the world. Bupa will reach a collaboration agreement with the winning start-up.

In the business unit of Sanitas and Bupa ELA, more than 90 start-ups were presented with innovative solutions in the field of sustainability that at the same time help to improve people’s health, in line with the concept OneHealthpromoted by the World Health Organization.

The startups chosen in each category have been:

decarbonization

The objective is the reduction of CO2 in the activity of Sanitas and Bupa, of our suppliers, customers and employees.

The start-up that will work together with Sanitas and Bupa ELA to develop a PMV is Macco Robotics. It is a Spanish foodtech firm focused on the development and manufacture of products and processes based on robotics and Artificial Intelligence to work with food and beverages. The start-up develops a technology that allows knowing the nutritional status of people in real time. Thanks to this, with artificial intelligence a personalized eating plan is prepared that can be prepared by robots, eliminating waste, increasing food safety and predicting consumption.

circular solutions

Solutions to reduce the use of natural resources at Sanitas, Bupa and at our suppliers.

The winning start-up has been Souji. It is the first liquid based on mineral and vegetable compounds that, when mixed and shaken, in the correct proportions, with used oil, achieves the saponification reaction (chemical process by which a fatty body, attached to a base, gives as soap result) in just one minute, without the need for heat and without any type of corrosive agent such as caustic soda. Souji’s goal as a company is to achieve a fairer, more sustainable and cleaner planet.

This area seeks sustainable solutions that reduce the use of natural resources and harmful emissions.

It is a remote monitoring platform, focused on reducing care and travel costs for the more than 5 billion chronic patients worldwide, through the use of Artificial Intelligence. So your doctors can monitor your health data on a daily basis and anticipate the deterioration of your conditions. The teams are challenged to find solutions that unite clients and clinical staff in the search for the reduction of the environmental impact in the field of health.

This start-up is a revolutionary cutting-edge Clinical Intelligence and communication tool for dermatologists that triples the empowerment of patients.
