Apple prepares the launch of iPad tablets 2022

The iPads 2022 “they will arrive in a matter of days”says Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman, citing the first update to Apple’s line of professional tablets in a year and a half and the revamped version of the “budget” iPad.

iPadPro

Gurman says that the new iPad Pro will be marketed in the two screen sizes present in the current line, 11 and 12.9 inches, codenamed J617 and J620, respectively. They would keep the same basic design, finishes, dimensions, and Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity. Changes in the level of RAM and storage are also not expected. And it is that the considered “best tablet on the market” needs few changes.

The most important and almost unique draft would be the apple m2 chipset that mounts the latest generation MacBook Air. This SoC is expected to bring a 20% speed boost. In actual use it won’t be as big of a jump as the M1 supposed, but it’s not negligible.

Apple will also present a new entry-level tablet that -if the information is confirmed- would receive a greater number of news. To begin with, I would have a new design closer to that of the iPad Pro and a USB Type-C port for charging and data. Its engine would also be updated with the chipset A14 Bionic.

All 2022 iPads would pre-install iPadOS 16 and the first update that 16.1 is preparing that Apple is developing. Bloomberg says the tablets will be announced sometime in the next two weeks, coinciding with the October 27 earnings release.

And more from Apple

Apart from the announcement of the iPad, but in the short term, Apple is preparing other hardware releases. Point out the next versions of the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets, and the Mac Mini with the M2 in what would be the first update of the small Cupertino desktop. Other novelties cited by Bloomberg are an Apple TV with the A14 SoC and 4 Gbytes of memory and an independent device that would combine tablet and smart speaker functions.
