The automation and electrification company ABB has announced the startup purchase german dedicated to the manufacture and sale of smart home devices Eve. For now, Eve will continue to operate from her office in Munich, and her organization will remain unchanged. Her products and technologies will be integrated into the portfolio of Home and Building Automation Solutions of ABB’s Intelligent Buildings Division, based in Switzerland.
The terms of the company’s purchase agreement are unknown, nor is it known if it will continue to operate independently in the future, or if its products will continue to be marketed in the future under the Eve brand. Because what seems to really interest ABB is the knowledge and experience that the company has in the Matter and Thread smart home connectivity standards and protocols, which are used by many companies in the sector.

Markus Fest, founder of Evehas described the purchase as «a validation of what we have achieved so far» with its device connection technology, and the Company CEO Jerome Gackelhas highlighted that «Building on our heritage, pace of innovation and brand, we will now combine our passion, agility and experience with ABB’s scale, reputation and international experience to continue to grow Eve as a global leader«.
