Avatar: The Last Airbender, Daniel Dae Kim will be the Lord of Fire Ozai in the Netflix series

Daniel Dae Kim (Lost, Hellboy, Always Be My Maybe) has signed up to officially join the cast of the live-action series of Avatar: The Last Airbender, coming up Netflix, in the role of the Lord of Fire Ozai.

Kim will play “the ruthless leader of the Fire Nation who asks everyone to abide by his impossible standards, especially his teenage son, Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu). Ozai’s drive to conquer and unite the world under the rule of the rulers of fire is a family burden: he believes his destiny is to end a war initiated by his ancestors ”.

Kim will join Dallas Liu and the rest of the cast, which includes Gordon Cormier, who we know will play Aang, Kiawentiio (Katara) and Ian Ousley (Sokka).

Albert Kim (Sleepy Hollow) is the showrunner, executive producer and writer of the series, with Rideback’s Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberator appearing as executive producers, along with Michael Goi. Roseanne Liang is the executive co-producer.

The director will find Goi, Roseanne Liang, Jabbar Raisani and Jet Wilkinson.

With the news of the casting of Daniel Dae Kim we also know that the moment of the start of the work for the series seems to be approaching, after the shooting of Avatar: The Last Airbender has been postponed several times since 2019 (yes, also for the reasons you all imagine).
