Batman has a new logo, what is it like?

There is no doubt that Batman is one of DC’s longest-running characters. in the world of comics. With more than 80 years of history behind him and multiple creative teams behind his legendary comics, it is inevitable that the character has had to go through different stages that have served to offer fans several important logos and redesigns of his name. The fact is that, starting in July of this year 2022, we will have a new logo for the batman.

Modern vs old, does it change so much?

This event will occur in issue #125 of the DC Rebirth Batman series. Until this new cartoon, the logo consisted of the bat symbol with the character’s name superimposed on it, but this new one will be the other way around, with the bat superimposed on the name, all with reddish colors. The last time that Batman underwent a redesign of this style was in 2011, with the beginning of the highly controversial stage of the new 52. Right here below, in the center, you can check what those changes will be, compared to two others (on both sides) that have been in force in recent times.

New versus old Batman logo.

There are those who theorize that this change in the logo could be related to the change in the creative team, since this series was originally run by Jorge Jiménez and James Tynion IV, a duo that worked on events such as Joker Wareither Fear Stateuntil the second left DC after being published Batman #117 to focus on other projects. It was there when the group composed of Williamson and cartoonists Makil Janin and Jorge Molina began work on the collection of the world’s greatest detective, although this trio only lasted a single story arc. The former would also abandon Batman after The Death of the Justice Leaguea comic in which it is theorized that they could kill Bruce Wayne himself.

Inspired by batman?

From there, the Batman series will return to the hands of Jorge Jiménez, this time accompanied by Zdarsky. According to the latter, in this new story arc they are going to introduce a new villain, Failsafe, which promises to be the equivalent of Doomsday (Superman’s nemesis who gave so much to talk about in the 1990s) but in this case for the Dark Knight.

If we go deeper with the new logo, you don’t have to be too clever to glimpse parallels with another that we have recently seen in theaterslike the one in the movie batman, starring Robert Pattinson. Without a doubt, this change in the comics could be designed to capitalize on the resounding success of the new film directed by Matt Reeves and that promises a continuation over the next two years. This would not be the first time that a logo redesign has been made based on a project for cinemas or television. The new 52for example, was partially inspired by the Batman logo that we can see in the well-known video game saga of batman arkham.

Batman #125 It will go on sale next July 5, 2022 in the United States, while for Spain we will have to wait and see how the distribution agreements go, so the arrival in stores could take a little longer.
