Disney+ will remove dozens of titles from its catalog, here are which ones, and why

Disney announced at its last shareholder meeting that several dozen titles will be removed from the Disney+ catalog, the company’s streaming platform.

The rumor that Disney + will reduce the number of its films and series has been running for a long time. The company’s chief financial officer confirmed to shareholders: “We are auditing Disney+ and Hulu content to bring it into line with changes to our content curation approach.” In other words, the house of Mickey wants to clean out his digital closetsbecause some content does not pay anything in terms of new subscriptions.

Worse still, keeping them on servers is expensive, too expensive. It is said that depreciating Disney+ content would cost between $1.5 billion and $1.8 billion at the mother house. An expense which, in these times of waste hunting, has become unacceptable. You will thus notice that the films, series and documentaries dedicated to permanently disappear from May 26 next have, for the most part, been public and/or critical failures, and there is no real indication that they will suddenly become popular.
