Apple TV+ today unveiled the trailer for its new crime-mystery comedy Bad Sisters, the new series from Emmy-nominated and BAFTA-winning Sharon Horgan. The 10-episode series will premiere globally with the first two episodes on Friday, August 19, followed by a new weekly episode every Friday through October 14.
The Garvey sisters have always been very close and have taken care of each other. When her brother-in-law dies, the life insurance company launches an investigation for malicious intent and sets its sights on the sisters, each of whom had plenty of reasons to kill him. In addition to Horgan, the cast of “Sisters to Death” is led by Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene and Eve Hewson as the Garvey sisters. Claes Bang, Brian Gleeson, Daryl McCormack, Assaad Bouab and newcomer Saise Quinn complete the ensemble cast.
This week’s releases
“Appearances” (“Surface”), the new eight-episode psychological thriller from creator Veronica West, will premiere globally with the first three episodes on Friday, July 29, followed by a new weekly episode each Friday. Set in high society in San Francisco, “Appearances” stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who is also an executive producer. Mbatha-Raw plays Sophie, a woman who has suffered a head trauma, apparently the result of a suicide attempt, which has left her with acute memory loss.
Based on the best-selling series by Paula Danziger, with more than 10 million copies sold, the series “Golden Amber” (“Amber Brown”) is an unfiltered look at a girl finding her voice through art and music in the wake of her parents’ divorce. Written and directed by Bonnie Hunt (“Jumanji,” “Home Twelve”).
