Edward Alonso: Goom Spain is a technology services company specialized in Microsoft management systems in the cloud and more recently in Artificial Intelligence (AI) models integrated into business software.

MuyPymes: How has the Spanish industry changed in recent years?
Edward Alonso: Spanish companies have modernized their management processes and tools very quickly since 2020, caused, in part, by the pandemic. There has been a “cascade effect”, since the companies are connected to each other, and said modernization has expanded in the Spanish business fabric.
MuyPymes: What role has digitization played in this transformation?
Edward Alonso: Business processes can only be modernized if they are digitized, and this has been achieved very effectively thanks to cloud software that offers great advantages such as: speed, security, flexibility and lower costs.

Edward Alonso: We have opened a delegation in Andalusia and Galicia, to give a closer response to the business fabric of both autonomous communities.

MuyPymes: What trends, related to digital transformation, will SMEs experience in the coming years?
Edward Alonso: The cloud as the main “driver” of digital transformation is already in the past.
What is really important now is Artificial Intelligence applied to company management. At Goom we are already offering Artificial Intelligence models in management systems with systems such as Open AI’s GPT-4 and Microsoft’s Copilot. It is something that seems like science fiction, but it can now be implemented in companies and adds a lot of value to management, so much so that there are beginning to be Artificial Intelligence departments in companies.
MuyPymes: What are the main obstacles for SMEs to digitization and how can you help them?
Edward Alonso: Today, SMEs have highly advanced software at their disposal at very low costs and with implementation times of only days. Nothing to do with what it was a few years ago. In addition, they have help such as online courses, grants, etc.
