Free offers to buy a 4K TV for 30 months, but the offer does not make subscribers dream

Like SFR and Bouygues, Free has decided to start selling 4K TVs, in partnership with Samsung. The operator offers its subscribers a selection of connected televisions that they can buy over 30 months. Only and according to the first feedback from users, the offer is far from attractive.

While Free has just announced something new for its Proxi service, the operator is launching this Monday, December 5, 2022 in the sale of 4K TVs. In partnership with Samsung, Free therefore offers a list of 4K TVs from the South Korean brand to its users. The troublemaker of the net is catching up with the competition, since Bouygues and SFR have already had similar offers for over a year now.

As Free specifies on its website, users will therefore be able to acquire the TV of their choice via a payment spread over 30 months free of charge. It is therefore a credit, supported directly by Free. In total, the offer offers two models, namely the AU7105 4K Crystal UHD TV and Q60B 4K QLED TVin 43″, 50″, 55″ and 65″ versions.

Free launches the sale of 4K TVs

Attractive at first glance, the offer turns out to be unattractive in the end, as several users have pointed out. The fault in particular with rather high prices, very close to those offered directly by the manufacturer on its official website. Thus, the Crystal UHD AU7105 in 43″ costs €440 in total (a first payment of €49, then €13/month for 30 months). This represents a ridiculous reduction of 10 euros compared to the manufacturer price.

Here is the price of the other models offered:

  • Crystal UHD 50″: €550 (first payment of €100 + €15/month)
  • Crystal UHD 55″: €620 (first payment of €140 + €16/month)
  • Crystal UHD 65″: €770 (first payment of €200 + €19/month)

Note that the last two models are eligible for a reduction of 30 euros on the total invoice. Next, we come to the QLED Q60B models:

  • Q60B 43″: €650 (€80 for the first payment and €19/month)
  • Q60B 50″: €700 (€100 for the first payment and €20/month)
  • Q60B 55″: €750 (€120 on first installment and €21/month)
  • Q60B 65″: €900 (€150 for the first payment and €25/month)

You will agree, the offer is far from attractive, especially since TV manufacturers chain promotional operations at the end of the year. Another negative point to put to the credit of Free, the operator has chosen to reserve this offer for users who have subscribed for more than a year and who have not had any outstanding payments. In other words, new customers are not eligible.
