Sammobile has shared new information that leaves us many details about the Galaxy S23 FE, a high-end smartphone that will become a “cheap” alternative to the Galaxy S23in quotes because although its price will be lower, this does not mean that it will be cheap, rather the opposite, although we will delve into it at the end of the article.
The Galaxy S23 FE is emerging as a curious model, because Samsung did not release a Galaxy S22 FE, and this makes us doubt the possible specifications that this new terminal will have. We were also not clear if it could be based on the same SoC as Samsung’s current top of the range, or if, on the contrary, it would resort to an older chip to reduce the sale price at the cost of lower performance.
Thanks to this new information we have more details about the Galaxy S23 FE, and I can finally give you a clearer vision of what we can expect from this new terminalAlthough I can tell you in advance that this leaves us with bad news, and that is that Samsung would have chosen a SoC that is already more than a year old, and that by the time this new terminal arrives it will be very close to being two years old.
Possible specifications of the Galaxy S23 FE

- 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution.
- Exynos 2200 SoC with eight-core CPU, divided into one high-performance Cortex-X2 core, three Cortex-A710 cores, and four high-efficiency Cortex-A510 cores.
- Xclipse 920 GPU based on AMD RDNA2 architecture.
- 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, depending on version.
- 128 GB or 256 GB of storage capacity, depending on version.
- Three rear cameras, a main 50 MP, a telephoto lens and a wide angle.
- 12 MP front camera.
- 4,500 mAh battery compatible with fast charging (25 watts).
- Android 13 as a custom operating system with the One UI 5.1 layer.
In general, the performance of this smartphone it will be more or less at the level of the Galaxy S22, Although its nomenclature points to the Galaxy S23 series, a very important detail that we must take into account. However, it will be a model that will fit in the high range on its own merits, as we have said before.
Design, finishes, possible price and release date
In terms of design, we expect important changes in the Galaxy S23 FE, a terminal that should be close to what we have seen in the Galaxy S23. This means that rear cameras will no longer be mounted on an island, but they will integrate perfectly into the chassis of the terminal. The front will maintain the all-screen finish with a flat format and the camera integrated into a circular island.
I have doubts about the quality of materials, but I think that Samsung will most likely end up using an aluminum and plastic chassis at the rear, instead of glass. This would translate into a less premium finish that would further differentiate it from the Galaxy S23, and at the same time allow it to reduce the sale price.
And speaking of the sale price, this should be around $699, $100 less than the launch price of the Galaxy S23. In Spain, after converting currency and applying taxes, this figure could become 799 euro, a more affordable figure than the 959 euros that the Galaxy S23 costs, although in my opinion too high for a terminal with an Exynos 2200.
If the forecasts that we have seen are met, the Galaxy S23 FE will be presented between the months of October and Decemberthat is, just at the end of this year.
