Galaxy S23 Ultra: the battery size will be identical to the S22 Ultra, it’s confirmed

The Galaxy S23 Ultra should be equipped with a battery identical to that of its predecessor, with a capacity of 5000 mAh. This would still be compatible with 45 W fast charging.

Several weeks ago, first information on the autonomy of the Galaxy S23 Ultra announced that Samsung was probably not going to increase the size of the battery of its smartphone compared to the previous generation. However, we have already seen that the Galaxy S23 and S23+ will both benefit from a battery with a larger capacity.

On the Chinese social network Weibo, leaker Ice Universe shared an image of the Galaxy S23 Ultra battery, which then ends speculation regarding his ability. The latter retains the same 5000 mAh capacity as the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but this does not necessarily mean that the autonomy of the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be identical to that of the previous model.

The autonomy of the Galaxy S23 Ultra should increase well

Despite an identical battery, the Galaxy S23 Ultra should benefit from a much more interesting processor with reduced energy consumption. The Galaxy S23 Ultra would benefit from a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm, thus abandoning Samsung’s Exynos chips which have been much criticized for several years now. Compared to the Exynos 2200 chip of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, that of the Galaxy S23 Ultra should be more than 50% more energy efficient, again according to information from leaker Ice Universe.

A chip that consumes less energy will therefore allow the smartphone to enjoy a much better autonomy. Moreover, this will not be the only one to be more effective, since Samsung will also bet on an ever less greedy OLED screenas well as on top a new UFS 4.0 storage standard. The latter can reach read speeds of up to 4200MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 2800MB/s, but above all offers energy efficiency increased by 46%.

Anyway, we should soon learn more about the three Galaxy S23, since Samsung could advance the launch date of its smartphones compared to previous generations. These could therefore arrive as early as the first weeks of 2022, rather than the end of February.
